Collect for the day:
Almighty God, give us grace to cast away the works of darkness and to put on the armour of light, now in the time of this mortal life, in which your Son Jesus Christ came to us in great humility; that on the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge the living and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal; through him who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Psalm response: I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to God’s
house’.
Post-Communion Prayer at the Advent Wreath: Lord Jesus, light of the world, born in David’s city of Bethlehem, born like him to be a king: be born in our hearts at Christmas, be King of our lives today. Amen.

Advent: Do please take away an Advent and Christmas leaflet.
Volunteers Required: We are hosting a Stay & Play Christmas morning on Wednesday 21st December and we need volunteers to help with activities and serve refreshments. Please speak to Jo or sign up volunteer.
Christmas tree: We will be decorating the Christmas tree on Saturday 10th December from 9.30am – do please come along to help.
Men’s Group: Our next meeting putting the world to rights is on Saturday 10th December 7.30pm at The Inglenook.
Year of the Bible: Next week we will officially launch the Year of the Bible, so all are asked to bring in a Bible you use at home to dedicate ourselves to this Year.
Ladies Club Christmas Celebration: You are all invited to come and join us at The Church Centre on Tuesday 6th December at 7.00 pm. The evening will include Poems, Readings, Carols, Mulled Wine and Mince Pies, and a Raffle. The Glenwood Ladies Choir will lead the singing. All are welcome.
Chichester Voices Concert: ‘Nowell, Nowell’ to be held on Saturday 17th December at 7.30 pm. Tickets available from Andrew Naylor priced at £12 or £10 for concessions, on the door or by phoning 07900 098197. All proceeds to Rotary charities.
Diocesan Intercessions List: On Friday 9th December 2016 Chichester Cathedral will be praying for St Thomas a Becket at the 8am Holy Communion Service and again at 5.30pm which at the moment is expected to be Sung Evensong. We are all warmly invited to the Cathedral on this day including complimentary tea and cake in Cloisters Cafe at 4.30 pm. If you wish to attend please add your name and telephone number to the list on the noticeboard by Sunday 4th December 2016 and meet at 4.30pm in Cloisters Cafe on the day. Parish Pilgrimage 2017: Parish Pilgrimage 2017 to Launde Abbey is going to be Tuesday 30th May – Friday 2nd June 2017. Cost per adult is £200 or more. A provisional booking has been made, so do please speak to Mark ASAP if you would like to be added to the list.
