Almighty God, who through your only-begotten Son Jesus Christ have overcome death and opened to us the gate of everlasting life: grant that, as by your grace going before us you put into our minds good desires, so by your continual help we may bring them to good effect; through Jesus Christ our risen Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

 

Amen.

NOTICES

 

Derek Bech: We were saddened to hear news of Derek’s death recently and offer our condolences to his family. Derek’s funeral will be here in church at 2pm on Wednesday 4th May.

 

Munro Edwards: We have also heard of Munro’s death last week and send our sympathy to Susan and all the family. Munro’s funeral is this Wednesday at 3.15pm.

 

Art Exhibition: The staging for this event will be assembled on Thursday 28th April from 10 o’clock. If you are able to assist please just turn up, or speak to Mike Wake or Trudi Kearsley. Hanging of the paintings takes place between 6 and 8 on Thursday evening and help would be appreciated.

 

Ascension Day: This great festival is on Thursday 5th May. All are encouraged to attend a service for their communion at 10am, 4pm or 8pm.

 

Safeguarding: A Child Protection Safeguarding Training course is to be held at St Pancras Church, Chichester on Thursday 5th May from 7–9.30 pm.   If you are interested in attending this course, in particular new members of the PCC and anyone currently working with our children who have not had any relevant training in the past 5 years, please do your best to attend. Please let Jan know if you are able to attend (jan.brockhurst@btinternet.com).

 

St Andrews Chapel: We need volunteer painters for this on Saturday 7th May starting at 9.00am. We hope to have enough brushes, rollers etc. but it might be helpful to bring your own just in case. Find out more from Mike (264254) or Stephen (266800) or just turn up on the day.

 

Support CMS: Alison Blenkinsop (Tel: 261131) is taking part in a 10K ‘Walk with Jesus’ from Goodwood on Saturday 7th May, to raise funds for the Church Mission Society. Sponsorship forms are at the back of church if you wish to support this worthy cause.

 

EU Referendum Discussion Evening: All are welcome to descend upon The Lamb on Wednesday 11th May 7 for 7.30pm for a free-flowing evening of putting the world to rights on Britain and the EU!

 

Parish Book Group: Our current book is “God before Breakfast – Thoughts for the Day” by Angela Tilby. See the Book Group notice board for further information and sign-up sheets. Join a discussion group on Monday 16th May at 8pm or Thursday 19th May at 10am.
