Christ the King

Collect for the day

Heavenly Father, whose blessed Son was revealed to destroy the works of the devil and to make us the children of God and heirs of eternal life: grant that we, having this hope, may purify ourselves even as he is pure; that when he shall appear in power and great glory we may be made like him in his eternal and glorious kingdom; where he is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

NOTICES

Church Roof update: Three and half years after the Raise the Roof appeal was launched, we have now almost reached the target of £350,000 of secured funding. We are very grateful for the grants we have received, and the generosity of our Church family and many other individuals and organisations that have contributed. Please see the board at the back of the church for progress pictures and funding update.

All the 300 or so tiles that have been sponsored, with names of the donors on the back, are now on the roof. See the website for photos of the tiles being prepared. If anyone else wishes to sponsor and sign their name and a dedication on a tile for £10, it’s not too late!

Christmas Market and Craft Fair: Thank you to all who helped in any way with this event. We raised approximately £1,845, which is an increase on last year’s total. Do see the stall list on the noticeboard, and well done everyone!

Church path sweeping: please speak to Mike Wake, or just turn up on Saturday mornings, if you are able to help with this.

Joan Hardie: Joan’s funeral will take place on Monday 25th at 10 am, at Our Lady of Sorrows RC Church, 10 Clarence Rd, Bognor, PO21 1LR. Her husband Derek is still recovering from a stroke in St Richard’s Hospital.

Pagham Ladies’ Club invite you to a Christmas Celebration at the Church Centre on Tuesday 3rd December at 7.30 pm. The programme will include Carols with the Glenwood Ladies’ Choir, Christmas poems and readings, raffle, mince pies and punch. All are welcome.

Pagham Luncheon Club is now benefiting from the Co-op Local Community Fund. (The last 12 months’ funding for the Church raised well over £1000.) Current Co-op members can choose the Club online or by phone (as below). Others may join by getting a leaflet in the Pagham or large Rose Green store, and ringing 0800 023 4708 or visiting coop.co.uk/membership. Then please nominate the Club!
