Date: 14th August 2016
Twelfth Sunday after Trinity
Collect for the day:
Almighty and everlasting God, you are always more ready to hear than we to pray and to give more than either we desire or deserve: pour down upon us the abundance of your mercy, forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid and giving us those good things which we are not worthy to ask but through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
Amen.
Psalm response: Arise, O God, and rule the earth.

Pilgrim Groups for September: We are hoping to start some new Pilgrim groups in September. There will be opportunity for people who have never done Pilgrim to try it out as well as new groups looking at other books later in the series. Please see the
noticeboard for sign up sheets and details.
Food Bank: Don’t forget to keep bringing in food for those in need, the summer holidays creates added pressure on budgets as children are not fed at school and need entertainment too.
Stewardship Sunday: In February you will remember that there was a Financial Presentation in church, where we asked all of you to prayerfully consider your level of financial support to the church. We said that we would report back to you once all had had time to take time to consider and if appropriate act. 6 months down the line we are able to report that there was a very positive response to the appeal. We do of course operate a variety of giving schemes – Parish giving Scheme, Free Will offering Envelopes, the collection plate etc. We are able to see that more than 30 people have taken positive steps to increase their giving, either in line with inflation via the Parish Giving Scheme, or by increasing the amount they give. Others have signed up either for the Parish Giving Scheme or the Free Will offering envelopes. There is a level of anonymity associated with all our giving, which makes giving thanks to individuals difficult. The PCC would therefore like to take this opportunity to thank all who responded to the appeal.
Parish Book Group: Our current book is ‘Grantchester – Sidney Chambers and the Shadow of Death’ by James Runcie. See the Book Group notice board for further information and sign-up sheets. Join a discussion group on Monday 12th September at 8pm, or Thursday 15th September at 10am.
Good News: Good News: Thank you to those who have responded and volunteered to take on deliveries. We are seeking deliverers for West Front Road (1 -25) and Edwen Close, if anyone is able to assist please contact Trudi 263597 or Mo 268576.
