God, who as at this time taught the hearts of your faithful people by sending to them the light of your Holy Spirit: grant s by the same Spirit to have a right judgement in all things and evermore to rejoice in his holy comfort; Through the merits of Christ jesus our Saviour, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Intention: Pray for our local clubs and organisations, especially our Ladies Club, The Luncheon Club and The Mens Club.

We pray for those recorded in our Memorial Book whose anniversaries occur at this time. We pray for all those who mourn their passing.

 

We pray for Molly Legg and her parents and godparents on this day of her baptism.

 

We pray for Grass Roots whose work we support financially as a parish.

 

We thank God for the fiftieth re-dedication of our bells and pray for future bell-ringing and bell-ringers in this place.

TODAY: Sponsored Bell Ringing for ‘Raise the Roof’: Six past and present Pagham ringers will meet here at 2.00pm to attempt to ring a full peal to mark the 50th anniversary of the restoration of the bells. The peal if successful will consist of 5040 changes and take approx. 2 hours 45mins. Come along to watch and hear the ringers in action. Refreshments served all afternoon – more information from Mike Wake.

 

Safari Supper – Saturday June 17th at 6:30pm. £10. A three course meal served in different locations with different dining companions. An opportunity to enjoy good food whilst getting to know people better. Event organised by Friends of Pagham Parish Church with proceeds going to the Roof Fund. Deanery Synod: Tuesday 6th June 7 for 7.30pm at Clymping sharing ideas about children’s and youth work; all are welcome.

 

Parish Book Group: Our current book is ‘The Testament of Gideon Mack’ by James Robertson. Join a discussion group on Monday 5th June at 8pm, or Thursday 8th June at 10am. See the Book Group notice board for further information and sign-up sheets. 

 

Pagham Flood Defence Trust: AGM is on Thursday 8th June at 7pm here at the church.  All are welcome to hear about how the work of the trust is going.

 

Deanery Confirmation: this annual event is at the Cathedral on Sunday 18th June at 5.30pm and we have five candidates: Allyssia Congdon, Eden Congdon, Lucy King, Abigail Lothian and Annaliesa Whitworth.  Do keep them in your prayers and even better come along for the service.
