NOTICES

Admission to Holy Communion Mthr Lucy is running a course for children in Year 6 and above who wish to be admitted to Holy Communion. Sessions will continue on Saturday mornings, 10:15–11:00 at Pagham church, on 8th, 15th & 22nd October. The children will be admitted to Holy Communion on All Saints’ Sunday on 30th October at the 09:30 service. Please contact Mthr Lucy for more details and to sign up. Parents are needed to help with these sessions, so if you can, please do sign up to help.

Confirmation We are hosting this on Tuesday 15th November with Bishop Ruth. If you are in school Year 9 and above (including adults) and would like to know more about Confirmation, please speak to Mthr Lucy. There will be an adult Confirmation course running on Thursday mornings at 11:00 in church, continuing on 20th & 27th October (NB change of Oct dates), and 3rd & 10th November. AND Monday evenings from 17th October at 19:30, location TBC, continuing on Mondays 24th & 31st October and 7th & 14th November.

Great is Thy Faithfulness As you will know from information shared in Pews News at the start of the year and from information posted around the church, a small group from the parish have been involved in this pilot programme run by the diocese. Bishop Ruth will join us for the Parish Eucharist on Sunday 9th October to share more about this with us all.

Book group We meet on Friday 7th at 14:30 in St Andrew’s Chapel, to discuss Katharine Parr, the sixth wife from the Six Tudor Queens series by Alison Weir. More information from Linda Tempest, lindatempest@hotmail.com, 07443 905893. 

Introduction to Contemplative Prayer Following the success and interest in contemplative prayer Mthr Lucy will lead a repeat introduction to contemplative prayer using the meditation technique of World Community for Christian Meditation (www.wccm.org). “Meditation is a universal spiritual wisdom and a practice found at the core of all the great religious traditions. It is not a complicated or essentially difficult practice. It is a way of simplicity, silence and stillness.” Those who participated in the introduction are welcome to repeat the course, and it is open to beginners too. The introduction will run on the following dates: Monday 17th, 24th, 31st October and 7th, 14th and 28th November. All at 14:00 in St Andrew’s Chapel, St Thomas à Becket’s, Pagham.

Pagham Village Hall Trustees Would you like to help manage and look after our splendid Village Hall for the benefit and enjoyment of local residents? Pagham Village Hall Trust has vacancies for trustees with relevant skills and local knowledge, who meet about six evenings a year. Please contact Mthr Lucy to be put in touch with the Chairman of Trustees for more information and a discussion about the role.
