Last Saturday Pagham Church was packed out to celebrate the ordination of our curate Jo King and curate Christine Keyte from Rustington as priests. In a ceremony going right back to the earliest Christian times, the bishop laid hands on the two candidates, invoking the Holy Spirit to come down on them for strength to do the work of a priest. The Bishop of Lewes, Richard Jackson, exhorted them and the whole assembly to follow Jesus’ example of loving God with all our being and loving our neighbour as ourselves. Now that Jo is a priest amongst us she is able to take baptisms and weddings, to bless and to absolve from sins and to preside at the Church’s meal, the Eucharist or Holy Communion. We wish her well in her new ministry!  Rev’d Mark Eminson
