On 30th May, eighteen pilgrims from Pagham Church travelled to Launde Abbey for a four day retreat. Nestled in the stunning Leicestershire countryside, Launde Abbey proved to be a refreshing oasis away from the demands of everyday life – including social media! The Abbey provided a pattern of prayer, worship and quiet contemplation; and the days were interspersed with group Bible study, a Bible quiz, walks in the gardens and countryside, reading, knitting and other leisurely activities, and delicious food. The hospitality provided by the staff at the Abbey was second to none, and the visit was thankfully blessed with lovely weather. After time away from the hustle and bustle, with thoughtful reflection and conversation with God and fellow pilgrims, the group returned relaxed and refreshed.
