Collect Almighty Father, you have given your only Son to die for our sins and to rise again for our justification: grant us so to put away the leaven of malice and wickedness that we may always serve you in pureness of living and truth; through the merits of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.  Amen.

 Lockdown 3.0 Public worship continues to be suspended at Pagham church, but we are now open for private prayer. For the next two weeks you can follow the services on the Cathedral website as above.

Sunday 11th April  

Intention: our Scouts, Guides, Cadets and other local youth organisations.

Monday 12th April

Intention: our local industry and commerce, our farmers and growers, and the holiday industry; the staff and guests of Church Farm Holiday Village (reopening today).

Tuesday 13th April

Intention: our choir and musicians; our lay ministers of communion, altar servers, welcome team and bell-ringers.

Wednesday 14th April

Intention: our Parochial Church Council, its officers and committees; all those who serve our Church in any way.

Thursday 15th April

Intention: our local community; our Parish Pastoral Care Team, local Residents’ Associations, and the County, District and Parish Councils.

Friday 16th April  

Intention: those married here and preparing for marriage this year; family life, and especially any families facing adversity.

Saturday 17th April

Intention: the press, radio and television corporations, and all who influence public opinion; also Christian publishing and broadcasting.

Sunday 18th April – Third Sunday of Easter

Intention: all seafarers, fishermen and lifeboat crews, and the work of Mission to Seafarers.

Intention: Church finances, national and international finance; consider what the words poverty and wealth mean to us.

Tuesday 20th April

Intention: all victims of violence, crime and oppression; those affected by domestic and other forms of abuse, and all who seek to support them.

Wednesday 21st April – Anselm, abbot, archbishop, teacher of the faith, 1109

Intention:  the sick in body, mind or spirit; those who have life-limiting conditions; the work of St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

Thursday 22nd April

Intention: our Deanery of Arundel & Bognor, and its parishes, clergy and people; our Rural Dean Mark Standen, and the work of Deanery Synod.

Friday 23rd April  – George, martyr, patron of England, c.304

Intention: all those who do difficult work on our behalf, especially in the armed services and the emergency services.

Saturday 24th April

Intention: the Church’s worldwide mission; all missionary societies and the Bible Society.

Sunday 25th April – Fourth Sunday of Easter  

Readings: Acts 4: 5–12; Psalm 23; 1 John 3: 16–end; John 10: 11–18

May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

Returning to public worship We will return to public worship from Sunday 25th April – at that time the following pattern of worship will resume: Sundays 08:00 and 09:30, Thursdays 10:00. Booking is encouraged and will help us to arrange seating. Please note that all steps for creating a Covid safe environment will be in place, most notably: the wearing of face mask unless you are exempt, observing social distance and using hand-sanitiser on arrival. Booking for services from the 25th April will be available from the 19th April, by contacting Trudi Kearsley – details on website.

Archdeaconry Confirmation On 8th July the Bishop of Lewes will confirm candidates from the Archdeaconry of Chichester, at St Mary’s Littlehampton. If you are a young person in school year 9 or above, or an adult and are interested in being prepared for confirmation, please make contact with Mthr Lucy. Details on Admission to Holy Communion before Confirmation will follow later, for those in Year 6 and above who are seeking this.

Annual Parochial Church Meeting The APCM will take place on Zoom, on Wednesday 28th April at 19:30. This is a meeting open to all, where we review and update on the activities and business of the Parochial Church Council over the past year, elect churchwardens and elect new members to the PCC. This year there are 5 spaces on the PCC. If you are willing to serve the Church community in this way, then please speak to Mo Hatzfeld (the PCC Secretary) for more information. Papers for this meeting will be shared next week.
