Intention: Pray for vocations to the ordained ministry, especially any within our own parish; for the theological colleges and for all ordinands in training and for vocations to the religious life.

Saturday 2nd December

Intention: Pray for our hospitals, doctors, district nurses, home care assistants, pharmacists, therapists, opticians, dentists; all who provide health care.

We pray for church members who live in residential care or receive communion at home. This week we pray for Pam Ryan, John and Velda Scully, Daphne Sharrad, Edna Swinnerton-Beet, Daphne Woolnough, Maureen Yates.

 

We pray for God’s blessing upon all who live in Tithe Barn Close, Tithe Barn Way.

 

We pray for St Wilfrid’s Hospice whose work we support as a parish.

 

We pray for Betsy Carter and Margo and Elsie Hay-Stairs on the day of their baptism and their parents and godparents.

 

We pray for Aimee Boteler, Trinity Feaver, Caitlin Foyn, Harry Fuller, Oliver Hilditch, Diana Kondratiuk, Cameron Townsend and Jemima Whitworth as they receive their first holy communion today.

 

We pray for the soul of John Miles, son of Pagham, who died in the Great War on 1st December 1917.

Shoebox Appeal: 92 boxes and 80 blankets (made by our Knit and natter Group) were this week delivered to the Worthing Warehouse. They have now been packed into cartons, loaded onto pallets and are ready to be taken by lorry to Eastern Europe to be distributed; thank you to all those who supported the appeal.

 

Advent and Christmas leaflet: do please take one away with you and perhaps another to give to a friend or neighbour.

 

Gemma Green: Gemma’s second blog is available on the website and there are a few hard copies at the back of church.

Christmas Quiz: Copies of this year’s Christmas Quiz are now available from Mo Hatzfeld, priced £1.00. This year’s prize is a hamper filled with lovely Christmas goodies. All profits go to Raise the Roof Fund.

 

Diocesan intercessions list: Our parish will be prayed for at Chichester Cathedral on Thursday 7th December 2017 at 8 am Holy Communion Service and 5.30 pm Evensong.   We are all invited to attend on this day, including a complimentary tea in Cloisters Cafe at 4.30 pm   If you would like to attend for tea followed by Evensong please sign the sheet on the notice board by Sunday 3rd December 2017 – for further information contact our Parish/Cathedral Link June Baker on 01243 262344.
