Collect  Merciful God, whose holy apostle Saint James, leaving his father and all that he had,

was obedient to the calling of your Son Jesus Christ and followed him even to death: help us, forsaking the false attractions of the world, to be ready at all times to answer your call without delay; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.   Amen.

The Rev’d Lucy Sullivan’s appointment as Priest in Charge The Churchwardens write:
“Following interview with the Archdeacon of Chichester and the wardens of Pagham and Aldwick on 5th July, we are pleased to announce that Lucy has been appointed by Bishop Martin as Priest in Charge of St Thomas à Becket, Pagham and Priest in Charge of St Richard, Aldwick. A date for her licensing is still to be confirmed.

The Churchwardens look forward to working with her in the future and are sure the PCC and congregation will do all they can to support her in this role. We welcome you Lucy.”

Jenny Wood It is with sadness that we share the news that Jenny Wood died peacefully on Saturday 10th July after a short illness. There will be a Thanksgiving Service in church on Monday 26th July at 3.00 pm. All are welcome. Booking is encouraged – details as above.

Churchyard maintenance A huge thank you to those who have been regularly turning out to help with churchyard maintenance over the last month or so. If you are able to help this team with strimming/mowing (and especially if you have your own petrol strimmer/mower and kit) the churchwardens would be very pleased to hear from you. Their details are below.
