Collect  Almighty God, to whose glory we celebrate the dedication of this house of prayer:

we praise you for the many blessings you have given to those who worship you here: and we pray that all who seek you in this place may find you, and, being filled with the Holy Spirit, may become a living temple acceptable to you; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

We pray for all to be baptized, among them Imogen and Darcey, and for their parents and godparents.

We pray for peace especially for and with the people of Ukraine. We pray for all those caught up in conflict, and for those seeking safety and refuge on these shores.

NOTICES

Admission to Holy Communion Children who have been to the preparation sessions are to be admitted to Holy Communion today, All Saints’ Sunday, at the 09:30 service. Please pray for Abigail, Phoebe, Harry, Lara, Layla, Savannah, Effie, Imogen, and Eve.

Confirmation We are hosting this on Tuesday 15th November with Bishop Ruth. If you are in school Year 9 and above (including adults) and would like to know more about confirmation, please speak to Mthr Lucy. There will be an adult confirmation course running on Thursday mornings at 11:00 in church, continuing on 27th October and 3rd & 10th November. AND Monday evenings at 19:30, location TBC, continuing 24th & 31st October and 7th & 14th November.

Introduction to Contemplative Prayer Following the success and interest in contemplative prayer Mthr Lucy will lead a repeat introduction to contemplative prayer using the meditation technique of World Community for Christian Meditation (www.wccm.org). “Meditation is a universal spiritual wisdom and a practice found at the core of all the great religious traditions. It is not a complicated or essentially difficult practice. It is a way of simplicity, silence and stillness.” Those who participated in the first introduction are welcome to repeat the course, and it is open to beginners too. The introduction will continue on the following dates: Monday 24th & 31st October and 7th, 14th & 28th November, all at 14:00 in St Andrew’s Chapel, St Thomas à Becket’s, Pagham.

All Souls’ Memorial Service, Sunday 30th October at 16:00: please join us to remember those we love but see no longer in this time of reflection and thanksgiving. This service will be preceded (from 15:00) and followed by refreshments and company. If you have someone to be remembered or prayed for, please PRINT the name on the sheet at the back of church, or email details to Mo Hatzfeld on admin@paghamchurch.org.

Bishop Luffa Church Support Forms for Admission in 2023 Would those families seeking a Church support form to be completed by Mthr Lucy for the school admissions process this year please contact her directly via email (see below), to arrange a meeting between Mthr Lucy, the child seeking admission and parent/s. These forms must be submitted by Friday 25th November.

Early Christmas Market and Craft Fair, Saturday 19th November 11:00–14:00 at the Village Hall. Donations (in good condition please) are needed for all the stalls: raffle prizes, chocolates, tombola items, unwanted gifts, puzzles, soft toys, jewellery, knitted goods, toys, bottles of wine and spirit, Christmas decorations. NB: no bric-a-brac. Please hold on to books for donation until nearer the day. Leave other donations at the back of church, or contact Trudi as above to arrange collection. Sign up on the noticeboard if you are able to help, or speak to Trudi.
