O Lord, we beseech you mercifully to hear the prayers of your people who call upon you; and grant that they may both perceive and know what things they ought to do,

Intinction (i.e dipping the wafer into the wine). I want to encourage people to reflect why they do this and is it really necessary? Intinction will be sensible for a few with health concerns either long-term or temporary, but there are all sorts of ways by leaving our front door where we will give and receive germs. More importantly, however, we really show how much we are brothers and sisters in the Lord by drinking from the common cup. Given that for centuries the people of God were denied the chalice (only the priest received) it seems a pity that with our privilege and freedom to receive it we are merely dipping and not drinking thankfully

Pet Blessing Sunday 6 October 4 pm – All are welcome to bring their pets and animals for a service of thanksgiving and blessing for these creatures of God with whom we share our lives.
