Third Sunday after Trinity

Collect for the day

Almighty God, you have broken the tyranny of sin and have sent the Spirit of your Son into our hearts, whereby we call you Father: give us grace to dedicate our freedom to your service, that we and all creation may be brought to the glorious liberty of the children of God; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Amen.

NOTICES

Summer Fair: many thanks to all who helped make the Fair an enjoyable and profitable occasion again. See the noticeboard for more details.

Church Roof update: the retiling of the roof should start in the next few days, and take about four months to complete. While the work is going on, the building will be surrounded by scaffolding and plywood hoarding. The church will remain open throughout, and services will take place as usual. Do please take extra care while the work is in progress.

Fundraising started three years ago, with a target of £350,000. We are still £40,000 short, so we need help with pledges or loans to get us over the line. If anyone feels able to assist in this way, please have a word in confidence with the churchwardens.

This has been the biggest single restoration project that has been undertaken in this church. So a huge thank you to everyone for supporting it, and all those that have been involved in organising the extra fundraising events. Also the many hours spent on grant applications, particularly by Mike Wake and Trudi Kearsley. See the noticeboard for a fuller report, and for updates.

Sea Sunday, 14thfor our 9.45 am Family Eucharist, when we support the work of Mission to Seafarers, do invite any friends or neighbours who have a particular love of the sea!

Parish Mosaic: part of this Year of Vocation’s activities is the compilation of a Parish Mosaic where lots of small photos will combine to form a giant image of our parish life! If you wish to take a photo representing any aspect of the life of St Thomas à Becket’s and Pagham, then send it in to Graham Jones at grahaminsunnybognor@gmail.com before Sunday 21st.

Farewell to the Eminsons on Saturday 27th at the vicarage, from 4 pm with a hog roast. Come and keep the feast!

Good News deliverers: We are seeking deliverers for the following rounds: Edwen Close, part of Church Way, Laurel Drive, Old Barn Close, Mill View Close. If you are able to assist please speak to Trudi or Mo.
