NOTICES

Face coverings We ask that you continue to wear face coverings when in church, to make sure that this remains a place of welcome for those who are vulnerable with the recent changes in Covid restrictions. You are encouraged to wear your face covering at all times when attending services/events in the church including when singing, please, unless medically exempt. We also ask that you use the hand sanitizer available at the door on arrival. Mthr Lucy and the Wardens will continue to review our COVID-19 practices regularly, so please be aware of notices on the pew sheet and in church.

Transept seating These side areas are kept for those who wish to maintain social distancing. There are ‘red crosses’ available to place on the seats beside you, to signal that you want to keep social distance.

Evening prayer will now run both online and in church, as noted above. To join online you will need either the mobile app, or a copy of the Common Worship Daily Prayer book. Copies of this book can be borrowed from church. Please speak to Mthr Lucy if you would like more details.

‘Great is Thy Faithfulness’ Growing the Household of Faith pilot programme This week we ask you to pray for The Revd. Dr Jack Dunn from the Department of Apostolic Life and those participants visiting us from the parish of Rustington, on Thursday evening.

Accession Service Sunday 6th February marks the 70th anniversary of HM The Queen’s accession to the throne. We will commemorate this with Evening Prayer and Accession Service according to the Book of Common Prayer at 17:30 on Sunday 6th. All are welcome.

Bell ringing How about learning to ring for HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee? There will be 4 days of national celebrations from 2nd June when we are encouraged to ring the bells to mark this historic event. Bell ringers do not have to be big, strong, musical or mathematical. Anyone from the age of 10 with reasonable coordination and a sense of rhythm can learn to ring. If you would like to know more, please speak to Mike Wake 07899 705632.

Foundation Governors for Nyewood Infant and Junior Schools Both of our Church of England schools are urgently seeking foundation governors at this time. The support of local parish churches in this essential role is critical to the mission of the Church in the wider community, with Foundation Governors being critical to helping foster a distinctive Christian identity in the schools. If you have any interest in learning more about this, please speak to Mthr Lucy, who is now an Ex-Officio Governor of both schools, for more information.

Music at Pagham church Since returning to public worship last spring we have been fortunate to enjoy the organ playing of Freddy, a music student from the university, he has greatly encouraged the singing of our choir too. I’m sorry to share that Freddy won’t be returning to us this term as he pursues other opportunities in his final year at the university. On behalf of us all I have thanked Freddy for all that he has contributed to the music and life of the parish. We will now review the way forward for the choir and music in our worship – but I wish to reiterate that all those who enjoy singing are most welcome to join the choir, details of practices are noted above.
