Alan Swan – we are sorry to hear that former churchwarden Alan Swan hs died.  We pray with thanksgiving for him and his service to this church as we also send our condolences and prayers to Hazel and their family.  Alan`s funeral is in church on Thursday 16th October at 2.30 p.m.

 

Bishop Luffa – any parents of Year 6 children who are applying for Bishop Luffa next academic year need to arrange to meet with Mark to fill out the Church Support Form.

 

Harvest Festival: We will be decorating the Church on Friday 10th (there is a wedding on Saturday 11th). Donations of greenery, foliage etc and produce would be very welcome.

Parish Book Group – Our current book is “In the Footsteps of Jesus – One Man’s Journey Through the Life of Christ”, by American actor Bruce Marchiano.  See the Book Group notice board for further information and sign-up sheets. Discussion groups: Monday 10th November at 8pm & Thursday 13th November at 10am.

 

Junior Choir and Young Readers – This autumn we are launching a junior choir for all children of school age. We will also be working with children in Year 5 and above who would like to read lessons and prayers. All parents of school age children should have received an email containing information about these opportunities. Info can also be found on the noticeboard and on the Youth page of the website. Pilgrim Course – Thank you for showing interest in the course, we are now ready to go.  Please look at the Pilgrim noticeboard and sign up to join a particular group.  In addition to the open groups we are running a focused `newcomers` group.  If you or someone you know are interested in this group then please speak to Jo or Mark.  Pilgrim Postcards – There are now some invitation cards available if you have people you would like to share about the course with.  There will be a second round starting in Jan/Feb for you to invite enquirers to if October is too soon.
