Yesterday we celebrated our church’s dedication to St Thomas à Becket with our patronal festival. At the 9.45 family eucharist we revived the ancient tradition of church clipping, where the congregation forms a circle around the church for songs and prayers. Then after the service, over 125 of us gathered back at the vicarage for a hog roast. Many thanks to Kate and James Congdon (aka Chef and Butcher of Billingshurst) for this fabulous lunch. Congratulations also to all those who competed in the impromptu sports day, and to our industrious group of young loom band manufacturers.
