Over the weekend of October 11th and 12th, St Thomas à Becket’s celebrated Harvest. Many of us gathered at the Church Centre for a supper on the Saturday night, and our Harvest Festival was held the following morning, in a beautifully decorated church.

In addition to 3 courses of delicious home cooked food, diners at this year’s Harvest Supper were treated to a smorgasbord of variety acts. Folk of all ages took to the stage to tell jokes, perform monologues, sing solos, lead sing-a-longs and recite poetry. The legendary Homepsun Players presented their potted “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, with the mischievous green-wigged Oompa-Loompas stealing the show.

All money raised by the Harvest Supper, and the retiring collection from the Harvest Festival, will go to the Diocesan West Africa Appeal. Harvest produce donated by the congregation will go to Bognor Food Bank, or to St Joseph’s, Stonepillow.
