Our annual Art Exhibition was held in church over the Bank Holiday weekend 30th April to May 2nd, and once again proved to be a very popular and successful event.

It is a pleasure to be able to display the creative work of so many talented local artists, in the beautiful setting of the church.

The exhibition attracted lots of visitors of all ages, coming to see the work, but also to enjoy the beauty of the church, and to enjoy the hospitality provided by the refreshment team – very few visitors left without sampling and enjoying the excellent home-made food.

The exhibition has been held annually for almost 20 years, growing in size and popularity. The first exhibitions were staged in the Chapel, but with the increasing number of exhibits the decision was taken to move to the main body of the church, making use of the space and light available, a decision which has proved to be very popular with our exhibitors and visitors alike.

This year’s exhibition attracted work from 40 artists, many of whom had not exhibited in the church before, with approximately 300 pieces of work on display. 22 of those artists were successful in selling some of their work, with 52 paintings sold in total.

Profits from this year’s event will be going to support the Pagham Church Roof Appeal.
